We perform precise water tests to determine the concentrations of substances in the water in both artificial and natural water reservoirs, such as: lakes, swimming ponds, ornamental ponds, retention reservoirs, as well as household sewage treatment plants. The results of microbiological tests allow the presence of bacteria and other pathogenic organisms that contaminate or affect the sanitary condition of water to be revealed. We provide specialist analysis of the results, along with comparisons with the relevant standards. In addition, based on this research, we advise what type of water reservoir can be built in a given place, and in the case of water analysis in existing facilities – we can develop and implement a recovery plan when the water quality is unsatisfactory.

 

If necessary, our basic water test kits can be augmented with additional deeper analysis of the parameters. We also offer tests of silt and soil collected from the bottom of reservoirs, as well as tests of rocks and minerals, in order to determine their phosphorus content.

How often should you test the water?

Water should be tested periodically, and at least 3 times a year, because its properties may change. Water testing and analysis carried out at least three times a year allows you to keep the water quality at a high level, especially in swimming ponds and ecological pools. Periodic testing allows you to react in time in case of emerging problems (uncontrolled algae and cyanobacteria growth, water blooms, fish dying, etc.). Water testing should always be carried out before the first filling of an artificially constructed reservoir, and every spring and autumn. Note, water samples must be delivered to the laboratory within 24 hours in order to obtain accurate results.

What do we test, and why do we test it?

We test tap water or well water before building a water reservoir in order to determine its parameters, which affects the selection of water plants and chemical compounds for filtration systems used for that reservoir. In the case of existing reservoirs, we perform water control tests in ponds, Koi ponds, retention ponds, and swimming ponds in order to maintain the proper quality. Our specialized testing allows you to choose the best composition of mineral materials and the most appropriate filtration techniques for each case based on the nutrient contents and their complex interrelations (e.g. Redfield ratio). Plants for bodies of water are also selected based on the calculation of Ellenberg coefficients. This mainly concerns the P factor, which relates to the nutrient content, and the R factor, which is influenced by both the CH hardness and the pH. All of these water parameter results are analyzed by a special computer program.

Water collection and shipping

Sampling water for testing

 

Sampling water for tests from a water supply or a deep well:

 

    1. Water samples can be collected in recycled 1.5 liter bottles. (Use bottles that contained still water.)
    2. The outlet of the water tap or the pump tap should be thoroughly washed, and then wiped dry with a clean cloth.
    3. Burn a cotton pad soaked in ethanol next to the tap or the tap outlet in order to sterilize it.
    4. Open the tap and allow the water to flow in a powerful continuous stream for 10 minutes.
    5. Fill the bottle with water and close it with the stopper.
    6. The bottle should be labeled with the date, time, and place of sampling.

 

Sampling water for tests from flowing water or from water reservoirs:

 

  1. Water samples can be collected in recycled 1.5 liter bottles. (Use bottles that contained still water.)
  2. Dip the bottle diagonally to the direction of the flow, and under the water turn it to point the opening downstream.
  3. Samples of standing water should be collected from above the deepest point of a reservoir, and from a depth of 20-50 cm below the water surface./li>
  4. Remove the bottle, pour out 1/4 of the volume, and close with the stopper.
  5. The bottle should be labeled with the date, time, and place of sampling.

 

Shipping water samples:

Water samples in 1.5 liter bottles should be packed in cardboard boxes. Samples should be sent as express packages, and not by regular mail, to ensure that they reaches us within 48 hours of the sample date. Samples are not processed on weekends; do not send samples on Thursdays and Fridays.

  1. Contact us by e-mail or telephone to arrange for a sample to be tested.
  2. Provide the information necessary for an invoice in an e-mail.
  3. Take a water sample according to the instructions given above.
  4. Ensure that the bottle is dry and is not leaking.
  5. Place a label on the bottle. The label should contain: date, time, and place of sampling.
  6. Pack the bottle in a 10cm x 10cm x 35cm carton.
  7. Arrange for express delivery on a jointly agreed date, with a shipping date no later than Wednesday.
  8. Wait for the test results and care guidelines that you paid for.
